How long does the Clarisonic last?

I've had the same Clarisonic since it started its debut at the Q. I have switched brush heads every few months with 2x daily use. The white color is very dull now and has water marks, etc. from being left in the shower. Last week I noticed a faint burning smell and after I switch brush heads, all's fine. So question: how long is the Clarisonic supposed to last? Mine is 2+ years old (I think..at least).

I really want one of the prettier ones...or try another brand...

What do yall think?
