I normally use 3-4, though sometimes will just use a dark bronzer all over on my eyes.  My eyes are round and I need more than one color to try to make them more almond shaped.  I love eye shadow and love trying new looks/color combos especially now that I'm working from home every day and don't care if my look is a little too bright or smoky for the office.

I enjoy watching people like Angela Bright and Mel Thompson for eye tutorials.  They do beautiful looks and sometimes use color combos that I would never think of but that look beautiful.

@Jordan2 Sounds like she was layering color for a smokey eye.

I use a soft, slightly pink in an extremely fine line under my brows to lift them and in the corner of my eyes.  Then I use a lighter and a darker taupe, Revlon's Siren quad.

I wear a lot of color in my clothes, so I do a neutral eye.

@wvumountiefanI have hazel eyes and love purple too! If you get the Urban Decay and don't like, try Viseart Amethyst theory or Libertine pallets.

Two and once in a while, three.  The times I've tried to use more, it looks way overdone on me.

For my typical daily routine, I use at least three shadows.

When I'm going out to dinner or some kind of event, I end up using at least five.  However, I can't duplicate the dramatic looks on YouTube.  I just do my own thing.  lol

My tastes on what looks pretty have changed.

I use one, mostly, and that is to subtly shade just above my crease. Just a color that is one step deeper than my natural color, and more often than not, it is my blush shade.

Once in a while I will use a one step lighter on my lid, too.

When I was really young, I would use 3 - one all over, one in the crease and one on the outside corners to accentuate. Later, I switched to 2 - one all over and one in crease.  I rarely wear any now, but when I do, I use 1, usually just on the lid, and maybe slightly above.

I use anything from 1-4 depending on my mood.

Usually 2. I always apply the lightest neutral shade first. If I’m super casual or feeling lazy that’s it, but most of the time I apply a medium shade on top of the first.

Sometimes I apply a darker shade in the outer half of the crease and/or lid. Sometimes I add a creamy white in the corners by my nose & under my brows.

I watched that tutorial/review, too. Beautiful colors and, if they were mostly matte, I’d get that palette. As it is, too much shine for me.

I like my shadows to done in a subtle look and use 2-4 different ones. Most tutorials show dramatic looks that horrify me! Lol
