Re: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

Raising her hand, here! I may be the one who owns both Hourglass and Skinn and posted about them. Skinn's Candlelit is very similar to Hourglass Dim, but a bit lighter, as I posted. They are very close in comparison, as a product. I believe Hourglass may be a little better product, but that may be due to the fact that I have the trio compact and use all three colors. Skinn is only one shade (that is a bit light). I truly do enjoy and use both. They are products I use daily. (my Hourglass trio is a year old and barely dented!) I've only been using Skinn for a few weeks. I feel they both give a nice soft focus glow. No glitter or shine in either, nor do I feel that my pores look bigger. HTH

Re: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

I purchased the Palette after wanting it for a year. The price was holding me back. Seemed steep. Finally caved a month ago. IN LOVE with it. Worth every penny. If you want to look airbrushed and flawless, pick it up.

I also own one of the Hourglass Blushes. Best I've ever used.

I got the Diffused (yellow one) to try to tone down some temporary redness I was experiencing. It didn't do that (like a corrector, don't know what I was thinking), but it's a lovely finishing powder to take down the shine of my sunscreen.

I was hot to trot and wanted them ALL but became distracted by other goodies, so have yet to try more. At the time, Cardamom painstakingly described each shade in the palette plus the Mood, so those will probably be what I pick up next. And maybe the blush palette, too. :-)

Skinn's knock-off version is called Candlelight and there are good reviews on that, too. One poster had both the Hourglass and the Candlelight and felt the Candlelight was almost comparable.

I haven't gotten any more either! Smiley Wink. Can you believe I've had these all this time and I don't even have a dent in the products! Smiley Happy. I did resist the blush! Whew! Smiley Wink

I think these powders last forever too. I haven't even made a dent in my palette and I use it almost every day! So to me although it does seem pricey you will definitely get your money's worth out of them!
