I have heard Chaz say a couple of times that of all the "heat" appliances for hair that the one he is okay with is hot rollers ( he has said because you can still touch those, whereas a curling iron or flat iron you would burn yourself if you touched them therefore it is like they are burning your hair also). Many years ago I had hot rollers and when I used them they got pretty hot and the curl seemed to last all day.
I bought a set of hot rollers this weekend at Wal-mart, I think the brand is Remington. They are velvet flocked and don't seem to get all that hot. And the curl is not lasting at all. I did get nice volume, but the curl not so much. Two questions:
1. Do I need to spend more than $25.00 on hot rollers to get ones that make a nice curl?
2. If I get hot rollers that get much hotter (to make the curl last longer), than what is the real difference between a curling iron (what I have been using) and hot rollers and the damage that could be caused to my hair?
FYI....my hair is in really good condition, always has been my entire life and WEN has made it even more amazing so I do not think the curling iron was damaging.
Thanks, Tami
