I just had my hair chemically straightened (it grew in seriously curly after my daughter was born and I couldn't take it anymore). We used a home kit that is the same thing as a perm kit. I haven't permed my hair since I was a teenager, so I don't remember how long it takes for that horrible smell to wash out. Does anyone know? Any tricks to make it wash out sooner? I had to wait two days per the kit's instructions, and today I washed it twice with WEN and it smells skunky. Should I use regular shampoo maybe? I don't want to dry it out any more than I need to, so I'll try again tomorrow, but I really feel like I'm walking around with a dead skunk on my head (the hair LOOKS great, though).
