I like to smoke out my eyes and prefer to use eye shadow for a smokey and not harsh look.I am having trouble finding a shadow that lasts all day. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Help with smokey eye look

Do you use a shadow primer? That's the only thing that will make shadows last on me. Urban Decay Primer Potion is a good one, and a tube lasts me almost a year...only takes a tiny dot. I think it was $14 the last time I bought one. I think Sephora & maye Ulta carries it.

I agree with Vermint, a primer really helps and UD is great. I use the Eden one to cover discoloration and make my lids brighter, thus making my shadow color look truer, longer. My tube has lasted over two years, but I'm not a daily eyeshadow wearer. What eyeshadow brand are you wearing? Just curious

I agree on using a primer/eyeshadow base. I use the eyeshadow base from NYX. It's economically priced and the little pot lasts a long time.

As for the shadow itself, check out the IT Cosmetic Trios. They're really nice. I also like the IT palettes.

Re: Help with smokey eye look

If you use a long lasting gel eyeliner you can smudge it out when you apply it to create the smoke. It sets quickly so you will need to smudge it out pretty quick. But once it sets it lasts. Nyx, Inglot, Bobbi Brown all make gel eyeliner in a variety of shades (esp inglot).

I also really love the mabelline color tattoo cream eyeshadows. They look great on their own, come in matte and frost, and they last and last, they are very easy to blend and they will grip and eyeshadow you put on top of it as well. But any long lasting cream eyeshadow product will work.

If you do your smokey eye with these products you will have to use a make up remover or an oil to remove them.

Here is a great video from QVC UK - it is a 3 minute smokey eye with cream eyeshadow and gel liner.

I would suggest Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion and the Lorac Pro.
