Hi All,

I want to try the eyelights. I have blue-grey eyes, what colors would you suggest? Thanks for your help.

Maybe you could add your hair color, skin color (fair, medium, deep), (warm/cool), and our resident beauties could get a better idea of what to suggest.

@kathie66 - are you interested in the original or the new matte (cashmere) ones?  Either way, when selecting eyeshadow, it's often recommended to use shades opposite your eye color on a color wheel.

I have blue eyes and a neutral skin tone so I am able to wear both warm and cool clothing.  I own every shade of the original Eyelights and many of the new ones.  I use them all but most of the time I stick with various neutral shades of cream, taupes, browns, and greys. Besides Eyelights, I like using the RMS Back2Brow as eyeshadow (and eyeliner too). I also like the RMS Eye Polish.  Below, the first set of shades are general color recommendations. They are not RMS shades, but will give you an idea of what to look for.  The next two photos are RMS shades to match them up to.  I think the originals Moondust, Strobe, Sunbeam, Supernova, and Blaze are good shades to start with but all of the originals are useable, IMO.  In the mattes, Tundra Taupe, Dusty Trail, and Mountain Mist are safe starter choices. Personally, I'm not fond of the reddish brown colors but you may like them.  Who knows, maybe I just need more practice with them. Ultimately, there are no makeup police and you can wear whatever you like.  Keep in mind, the cashmeres are on the soft, pale side - no huge color payoff unless you build.  For both versions, you only need very little product.  Use a brush and work fast.

@kathie66  @JeanLouiseFinch   I totally agree about neutral shadows for blue/grey eyes. I have green eyes, so once in awhile add a pale lavender shade. Brown eyes are OK with all colors.

With RMS shadows, I found it's best to do one eye at a time. They dry quickly.

@JeanLouiseFinch I am more interested in the original ones. I am also a neutral and can wear both warm and cool but lean towards cool. Also, like you reddish browns are not my favorite. I have to run to work now but wanted to say thank you for your detailed post. Appreciate the help.

Heading to work in a few, appreciate everyone's help. They seem intimidating, but I have wanted to give them a try for a while now. Thanks again!
