Help with Poreless Face Defender

I could use some advice. I can't seem to get the poreless face defender to look ok on my face. It seems to push my foundation into my pores on my nose (oh so not attractive of a look!) or it clumps/balls up my foundation. I'm trying hard not to move the sponge--just lightly press it onto the skin as Mally has directed. Got any tips out there for me?
