Re: Help! How to make epilator less painful??? Thanks

If you are a drinking woman, a couple martinis or stiff shots of something might help. I had to resort to this years ago to re-pierce the mis-placed hole in my ear. Get your piercing done at a shop where they do hundreds, doctors don't really have the practice to do this right.

Re: Help! How to make epilator less painful??? Thanks

As others have said, it is better and less painful over time. Another thought of mine is, we have always associated that pain as a razor nick, so we flinch and want to stop. You have to work on reconditioning your brain to think of those pricks as GOOD things, as the tool is doing its job. That thought helps me a little. And, I love the water I'm saving by not shaving in the shower. Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Help! How to make epilator less painful??? Thanks

Very good tips! Thanks! I am going to keep it; used it again tonight and it was less painful after a warm bath as opposed to last night when I tried it after a shower. I will try the loofah and exfoliating too, that could help. I was concerned that though it was picking up the majority of hair, my legs were not as smooth as I would have liked. That was a concern, but luckily someone mentioned, mijalu3 that they will eventually be smooth. Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!

Re: Help! How to make epilator less painful??? Thanks

Tori, Lisa R's tip (and she says she's been epilating years and years) is to be sure to hold the skin taut. I only use it on my face but that helps there, too. Hang in there!!

ETA: And yes, epilating helps, too.
