Okay I'm going back to IT foundation, I can't find one that I like better, but same problem, color!  First way back started with medium & it was great.  Then it got to dark and I went to Light.  I can still wear light, but it seems yellow on me.  I'm wondering about Fair.  Doest anyone know the difference between Fair and Light.  I'm 61, light, freckled skin, burn easy.  I saw on the IT site they have a Fairly Light wondering if anyone has tried or seen that shade.  I don't use the Illumination product, don't like the shine, just regular.  Any recommendations??

Re: Help Color for IT Cosmetics

Someone on here posted all the new shades. I can’t remdmber the thread name. IF I remember the fair light was pink based. Sounds by what you describe that might work for you. I would google and see if you can find the shades. I know it’s out there somewhere.

If you have an Ulta store anywhere near you, they carry It Cosmetics and you could try the shades in the store and then order from QVC for the deals.

Hi there, I think I can help. I tried fair-light and light in the new Bye Bye Foundation and tested fair as well. The undertone of fair-light is classified as pink by IT. I say it's peachy-pink, like baby aspirin undertone. Will work if you are very cool. Fair is the most neutral in the CC cream and BB Moisturizer. Fair-light is squarely between fair and light shadewise if you can handle the peach undertone. Fair is lighter by about half to one shade shade. I wear fair and light in the CC creams, both fair and illuminated. Mixing them is better but I am honestly too lazy to do that daily. So I either look a little pale, or like I have a little bronzer all over.  Ask me anything you want.

The medium and light both seem to yellow on me.  That's why I wondered about the fair-ight or the light-medium.  I think I have a cool undertone.  I was afraid the fair would just be to light for me totaly.  IDK what to do now.  I can't believe I started with medium and now thinking about fair.  So is your undertone cool or warm?  So confused.  Don't want anything wiht illumination, it doesn't look good on this 61y.o. face I think.

Katz, I am yellow but a touch of pink, like a light sand beige. Fair-light in Bye-Bye is pinky peach. It's light enough, it might work for you. I didn't like the peachiness. Or stick with regular formula in the CC and try fair. It has less of all the undertones.

@Katz25  I use the Fair in IT original CC foundation. I’d much rather be on the lighter side of 2 foundation choices and then if needed, add a little light touch of bronzer or blush to add back a little color. IMO, a too dark foundation, even 1 shade is aging & also throws off the rest of your makeup.

I’d also rather be on the yellow or neutral side than any pink or peach. Those tones can turn more ruddy when your t zone becomes more oily during the day.

That said, I’m a true fair, but always add back a sweep of Bobbi Brown bronzer in “Stonestreet” (for lighter skin) and her pot rouge or NARS O blush stick.

Hope that helps you.

@Katz25   Please go to ULTA and wipe foundation off your jawline. Try several shades in swipes beside each other in that area and check it in bright light. Most likely, one will look the closest to your skin tone.
