Re: Has Your Beauty Routine Changed Since the Pandemic? How?

Not really.  I don't wear any makeup on a daily basis even for errands, but I wasn't before the pandemic either.  I still do all my makeup for church once a week.  The only real change is I used to meet friends for lunch once a month and I would do a light makeup application for that.  I would also do light makeup when I went clothing shopping, but since I can't try on the clothes I haven't bothered.

@KaySD

Have you tried using vaseline on your hands?  It will make them a little greasy if you use too much.  But when my hands are super dry, it helps.

Me too!  There isn't much point to lipstick these days.  And it's pretty gross inside the mask.

@justashopper How nice of you to make that suggestion. Thanks. I do a lot of things with my hands all day and I'm really on the hunt for a cream that absorbs into my skin and dries down pretty quickly. And that I don't have to put on 12 times a day. That may be too much to ask!

@KaySD  Well, I will say the vaseline doesn't need to be applied a lot.  Maybe once a day....  if you did apply at night that might work.  Good luck!!  I know some others that are really moisturizing like bag balm or corn husker's lotion but they don't absorbed very quickly and they are not cheap.

@justashopper So true. I think I'll get a pair of gloves and try sleepign with them and a mask or overnight face cream.

You know what I can't seem to take care of well enough? My hands and nails. I try to wear gloves when cleaning or dishwashing, and I use hand cream, but it's never enough. The nails are nice and healthy, but the cuticles are hard and dry, and the skin on the backs of my hands is looking not so great. Sometimes my fingertips are so smooth I have to wet them to use my phone. What's that about? Hand creams are rather expensive and really, they don't help all that much.

I guess if that's my biggest problem, I have no complaints!

If Vaseline doesn't work for you, CeraVe in the tub is helpful.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin - Unscented - 12oz : Target

Very rich, very thick -- but no greasy feel.

Also comes with a pump for a little more $$$.  A tub lasts a long time.

Same old routine for me, except no hair cut.

Re: Has Your Beauty Routine Changed Since the Pandemic? How?

@just bee I love CeraVe!  I use the lotion, face wash, the cream (a little heavier than the lotion) and the ointment (which is like vaseline jelly).  My derm reccommended it.  And I have had great results.

The face wash/cleanser (well all the products) have those ceramides.  And I think that is what makes it so great.  Josie maran has a ceramide cleanser.  But I think the cerave is better.

Drug stores in my area and ulta often have cerave BOGO 40% off.

So this is great advice for @KaySD and the dry hands....

Very dependable products! Heart

I can't use anything on my hands that makes them feel greasy or sticky, yet this cream leaves no residue.  A very nice product.
