Is Halo the brand name? Is this a regular loose powder .... or a mineral powder? I've never heard of it.

Tinkrbl, it's a mineral based powder from Smashbox. It was the original cake of powder with a built-in shaver, so you shave off a fresh amount with each usage. They still sell it at Ulta.

Expensive, but one will seriously last a year!

I like Halo and still use it. I use very little of it, like a finishing powder over my BB cream. Mine has lasted a long time. Mine also came with the brush, love the brush.
