Desert Lily, that style you shared to oxox is how I am going to cut my hair!!!! You really know what works best for most women. Until I turned 50 I wore my hair in this style (short shag it was called years ago). Then I let it my hair grow long with layers. I did it myself using the ponytail method and also using the creaclip. Saved boo coo bucks and no one ever knew!!! I curl my hair and then scrunge.
Thank you all for your hearts. addie

@I am still oxox When I get in a funk with my hair, usually in spring, I cut mine in a pixie..short enough to piece it with wax stuff on the top....@Kachina624 style.
Of course, that's drastic if not ready for that. I also like the shorter shaggy styles shown by other posters if you're not ready for a big chop. You can always go in stages.....
Ask you stylist for ideas that will suit your face shape and hair texture. Sometimes a photo can't look right if the hair in the pic is thicker or thinner than your hair texture.

I've worn a French twist for over 50 years...

my hair is a short layered pixie. Currently trying to grow out weirdly short pieces from a very poorly done haircut. My Pinterest board of short hair styles gives me tons of ideas. The main thing is to have a hairdresser weigh in, assessing your particular hair, thick, thin, fine, coarse, wavy etc. And will the growth patterns accommodate a particular cut and style.
Have fun!!

@Shanus This is very excellent advice. What we see in a picture of a model does not always flatter everyone. All of these pictures look like hair that is not overly thick or coarse. My only other advice is if contemplating a new haircut style for an event do it a month before the event so that the cut has a chance to settle in. Nothing worse than going for a new hair cut and style the day before the event and hating the hair cut. Sort of like try it out before you commit. I learned that the hard way.

Do a ChatGPT and ask for different hairstyles as a mock up with your face. It will show you exactly how you will look in real life with a certain hairstyle. Pixie hairstyles show everything and are notorious for needing frequent maintenance. They also take months to years to grow out. You need a firm jawline, thick hair and they show everything....
