I had the same problem with the last several hairdressers I had.  My hair is a pain and it pulls super warm so it's a challenge.  I hate warm hair on me.

 

My normal stylist went on maternity leave and hooked me up with another girl in the salon.  She got my base color and my highlights spot on, first try. And the bonus was that she was much cheaper.  But I felt guilty so I went back to my normal girl when she returned to the salon.  Despite being given the exact formula, my color was a disaster.  

 

I went back to the other girl and have never been happier.

I wonder if she was using color and not bleach to do the highlights.

i just bought a toner shampoo from Matrix.  I hope it helps, cause I get that brassy problem.
