Well, it's been a long journey, but I've finally found the perfect combo for me: Laura Gellar Champagne Spackle and bareMInerals bare skin foundation applied with the special brush. I actually tried the bare skin with the bareMinerals primers and I didn't think they worked well together. The Spackle just complements the bare skin so beautifully. I'm 47 and my skin has gotten a bit drier and the bare skin makes me look so much younger, dewey, glowey, flawless. I'm loving this foundation! I also find it really lasts throughout the day. I wear Bare Beige. I also love the regular mineral powder foundation (and with that I love the primers), but I think if you're over, ahem, a certain age, the liquid bare skin is really flattering. Re: HG Primer/Foundation combo

Thanks for posting your experience with the combination. How long have you been using the foundation? This is the serum type foundation from them, isn't it? I'm looking forward to trying that when it hits retail stores. How is it with no primer? Why do you think e brush is the best application?

Re: HG Primer/Foundation combo

Glad you found something that works well for you. I think that foundation is a challenge for a lot of us. I have often thought I loved a foundation and then get a look at myself in the rear view mirror or the bathroom lights at a restaurant (you get the idea) and can't wait to get home and wash it off. I will say that I am really liking Physicians Formula CC cream. I actually just purchased my second one which is rare for me.

Does the PF CC have SPF? Gee, could I have used any more acronyms?

Re: HG Primer/Foundation combo

I can't say enough nice things about Spackle. There are some very good primers on the market, and I do try them. However, I always end up buying another Spackle to use most often. I use various foundations (powder, stick, cream... sheer to full coverage). The only type of foundation I don't like is liquid. Spackle works beautifully under all of them. I even like to wear Spackle when wearing no foundation (such as at the gym).

Yes it is spf 30 (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide)

Re: HG Primer/Foundation combo

harpersmom, congrats on finding your HG.

You mention that your skin has gotten drier, which says you were somewhat dry to begin with? LG Spackle doesn't work well for me because of my combo/oily skin. The Champagne leaves a beautiful glow.

I too tried the Bare Skin serum. To say it looked uncomplimentary would be an understatement. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

My quest for my HG continues.
