One of the best is Dawn dish soap........Its been used for everything and it works......just use straight from the bottle and really saturate your wet hair leave on for minute or two and then rinse well....I use alot of spray to hold my fine hair and have this problem often so I keep a bottle of dawn in the shower.Husband hair looked so nice and shiney and asked him which shampoo he used and he said dawn.....hair will be soft afterwards...I also go ahead and use my favorite shampoo after the dawn. About every fourth shampoo I use dawn.......

Pantene has some really good clarifying shampoos too - and they are of course inexpensive. They change the bottles and names occasionally, so I'll leave it to you to do the research if you want to consider one. But they usually have at least one kind at Target. Biolage Normalizing shampoo is also a very good daily clarifying shampoo, but it's getting kind of hard to find and is almost always sold out at Ulta when they have their shampoos sales on the big bottles.

I have to agree with the Dawn dishwashing soap suggestion. I use it about twice a month to remove any buildup and its works great! My stylist suggested it!

Try these styling products:
Matrix Vavoom Height of Glam Voluming Foam (a great mousse been around for years)
Kenra Volume Spray 25 (finishing spray/hair spray)

@CherryHugs wrote:I have some bad hair spray buildup on my hair!! I have tried vinegar, baking soda, vinegar and soda together, Suave Clairfying shampoo.
It has NOT helped 100%. The soda and vinegar together then shampooing after helped them most but not all of the buildup is gone.
Is there anything else to TRY?
Is there a way to avoid the buildup? I have to use some hairspray on my fine hair.
@CherryHugs I would think any clarifying shampoo will do the trick. Have you tried one? There are also lighter hairsprays for fine hair that have less build up. Look at the Mesquite line by Nick Chavez....Good luck with whatever you try.

*******If you color your hair, clarifying shampoos sometimes take some color out. Use it right before you have your color done.

I never in my life heard of buildup so bad that a shampoo will not fix. I recommend changing hair spray. I like to use light finishing sprays and pantene air spray, matrix volume rose is good

What worked for me is: changed hairspray and I use much less.
I got the Nuetrogena build up remover and use it once a week.
This seems to have helped totally with the issue I was having!!
Thanks again so much for all the help!!
