From what I have heard when watching QVC when they receive calls while displaying philosophy, there seem to be a HUGE number of men who are using various products. Have you noticed just how often it is mentioned by the calls the hosts and hostesses take while on the air that men and boys from the very young, to the very old are actually using and falling in love with these products? It is no longer a strange thing for men to be taking care of their skin and pampering themselves every bit as much a women do. This begs to question why QVC and philosophy is focusing so much on women, when men like to look good and feel good as well? Being one of those men myself, I submit the proposal that more attention be given to the men who like to take care of themselves and look their best. I also suggest that either another forum be dedicated to philosophy guys, or combine it with a name that includes both such as philosophy boys and girls, or philosophy guys and gals, or simply philosophy; you get the general idea. The average man on the street loves beautiful things, but society has recently so stigmatized men who indulge in such as being effeminate, weak, silly, or vain. People have tried to give genders to colors, fragrances, fabrics, and textures; all manner of things. Sadly, more and more often, swaying these gender applications toward the feminine, leaving few things left for the masculine. For example: pink is not feminine, blue is not masculine. Pastels are not feminine, any more than black and brown is masculine. They are just colors. Flowers are NOT just enjoyed by women. So why is a man discouraged by society from wearing floral patterns in clothing a jewelry, or as a fragrance? It's quite a skewed, unbalanced way of viewing things, if you think about it. Looking forward to all of your comments. Love to all!
