My hair style is in 5 layers.  Because of that and how fast it grows, it's a waste of time and energy to add highlights.  I've had them done professionally decades ago and liked it.

I have two products powder products in dark brown that I can use between colorings.  One is from ColorWow.  The ladies here told me about it.

Oh yuck!  Is that even legal?  Do you know you can have a state water guy out to check/test your water and make sure it's within the guidelines?  Or, if you want, you can buy a test at Lowes/Home Depot.

Phoenix is considering "purifying" sewage water for consumption...so I don't think they care much about my dirty-looking water (!!)    di

How would you like to relocate to balmy east Texas?

@monicakm You mentioned having back problems so it's difficult to sit in the sylist's chair for long.  Could you bring a supportive back cushion to help if you want to get your color done?

I know someonne who brings something like that with her when she needs to sit for long.

Yes, I suppose I could.  I hadn't thought of that.  I might have to get over being embarrassed tho (g)  I used to have my hair colored at the salon.  The reason I stopped is that the salon hair color didn't last any longer than what I could do at home and for a whole lot less.  Thanks @haddon9

I wish I had some gray hair so I could color it. But instead it's all naturally black Asian hair and extremely chemical-resistant so trying to lighten it turns into a disaster. Never again. Black is here to stay. Woman Tongue

Wish I had Asian hair.  It's the silkest, strongest hair.  My hair is a wispy, flyaway mess.

If you prefer that color in a box, I'm guessing you could find a hairdresser who makes house calls and can assist.

Not all hairdressers work full-time in salons.  Even a recent beauty school grad would like an occasional gig coming to your house ....  and you'd have a Plan B person in place if going to the salon can't be managed.

JMO, of course.

@monicakm   I  had to laugh at your dad's reaction 😅  Adorable!  I thought that too at first. Why would my hairdresser suggest cherry? But it works with our dark hair. Sometimes she adds a touch of violet too if I get brassy and it surprises me how beautifully it comes out..  I use Moroccan oil too. I love their Glimmer Spray.  It's nice to have the option to do at home. I will check out your box dye. I think I saw it a few pages back.
