The instructions for Borghese Gel Delicato Gentle Make Up Remover recommend you "Moisten a cotton pad with Gel Delicato. Sweep gently over face, around eye and lip areas. Remove with water or tissue." When the consultant at Sax demonstrated its use many, many years ago, she instructed me to use it just as I would any other gentle cleanser ( exactly as the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser I am prescribed is used ). That is what I've done for decades .
With Clarisonic and a bit more "makeup remover" than used with hands and a simple washcloth, Gel Delicato lathers well, cleanses thoroughly. Toners are superfluous. There is no residue to remove. My Borghese Effetto Immediato Spa-Comfort Cleanser sits in the cabinet because, after Gel Delicato, I don't need it.
Gel Delicato has never disappointed me. What lathering cleanser do you know of that can be applied directly, undiluted to the eye area and tissued off ?
If you have need of a cleanser and you prefer variety, if you like having an comperable alternative on hand, I think you will be pleased with both Gel Delicato and PTR Gentle Foaming Cleanser. If you've over- "treated", over- scrubbed your face and want something that cleanses and soothes there is no better cleanser than the original Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (In My doctor's not so Humble Opinion)

CoG, I'm just going both by the label on the Gel Delicato and how it's marketed -- as a makeup remover. I used to use it as such years and years ago and then moved on because honestly, I did not think that it removed my makeup very well at all.
Now I use a cleansing oil that does it all quickly and gently.

KatieB, which PTR cleanser are you reacting to ? I have six different formulas including Rose Stem Cell, Antiaging, Glycolic acid, Cucumber. I would check the ingredient list to determine just what causes an adverse reaction. There are very few cleansers with fewer ingredients . If you compare ingredient lists you'll find that this one might be used as a base for many competitor's products.
Read Purity Made Simple's ingredient list then watch the models smear Purity over their eyes and you'll wonder how it is most people don't react badly to using it.
Unadulterated city tap water burns our eyes too ! Hence the need to alter the pH to make cleansers non-irritating.
