Silicone serums typically give the best of both worlds: they offer the benefits (moisture retention, no frizz, no knots) of silicones, as well as the added benefits of oils that are added.

you are making that up or quoting the wrong product for the oil I listed is 100% silicone free.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate,Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Limonene, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil.
It even says on the bottle silicon free.

Silicones are synthetic oils. They work the same and are removed the same as oils. Most of my products contain silicones, by choice. Those that don't, I add the cones.
Why is it noone is reading my posts. There is no silicone in this product. That woman quoted the wrong ION product.

I agree, they don't work the same but I guess it depends on what you are using the oils for. For example, I don't really like silicones in my skincare but LOVE oils for several reasons, one of which you mention. If you are using oils to help smooth the hair shaft, then I suppose certain oils that don't penetrate the hair shaft work similarly to silicones, which mostly don't penetrate the hair shaft- so both are essentially sitting atop your hair, helping to lay down the roughened hair so it looks smoother.

currently I am using Shea Moisture Co-wash cleansing conditioner for my scalp only. I've used a few other products as well. I don't like to use menthol, spice extracts and citrus extracts on my scalp as much as possible.
Excellent idea! I'm going to try that with different Wen CCs when my hair gets longer.

This was meant for the beauty banter forum the doglvr or what ever her name was posted the ingredients for ION repairing oil treatment but my thread was for the ION pre-shampoo oil treatment which is silicone free. I apologize for posting in the wrong place

I think I will stick with Wen oils. Trust Chaz to know whats best for my hair and scalp and have had nothing but awesome results. If its not broke, don't fix it.

kc, we get it! You posted a pre-shampoo oil and DogLvr posted a repair oil that is silicone based.
Both made for great conversation; no worries
