Going full on BLONDE........scared

Well I did it back in High School and am thinking about doing it again. I have long hair, dark brown and about 5% gray coming in around face and the rest of me about 40% is blonde highlights. But I feel washed out and the thought of going all blonde seems fun, like a last hooray type thing, anybody here in the same boat. Besides , it does make the hair feel thicker, yes?

I did it when I was in my mid twenties. I'm very fair with brown eyes and dark brown hair but it looked great and made my hair much thicker. Blondes do have more fun! I would like to do it again too but I'm afraid!

Don't know about the more fun part, but I've been quite satisfied with being blond for many years now. I do my own with Clairol Nice n' Easy light ash blond about once every 6-8 weeks.Hope yours works out as well however you do it.

Why not get more highlighting -- say of a nice golden hue, particularly around the face -- to kind of light it up? I think being that your hair is naturally very dark, a total very blonde color might wash you out. I think if you are younger, an all over blonde would be a little easier to pull off, because many times as we get older, we lose some color from our skin. If you have more warmth and/or color to your skin, an all over blonde might me o.k. Particularly, if it were more of a nice warm golden shade.

Something to contemplate before making the change - What looks better -blonde or brunette???

I think the important thing is to have it done by professional, preferably a colorist. I'm at that age when some of my friends are going blonde. It's high maintenance if you have thick hair or hair that grows fast.

Omg Kim really has ruined her face and it's even more noticeable with that blonde hair.

full on blonde to me would be going platinum. I've often thought about doing this but reality is ...NOT! Really though, I think when we brunettes were younger most of us found ourselves going blonde. I was blonde too at least with having a LOT of what we called back in the day 'frosting' or highlights. Iin today's world they call it foils. This look was okay for me then but not now. I've gone back as close to my original color which is brown with a few foils on the auburn side.
