I just ordered the PTR glycolic peel pads but heard that Dr. Denese's were supposed to be good.  Does anyone have any experience with these two brands as to which is better or more effective?  I'm not a retinol user since my skin is dry and retinol seems to make it drier but I'm starting to see some need along my mouth/chin area.  I'm 69 and ok in the wrinkle category so I don't want to ruin my skin barrier.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've used both and definitely prefer PTR. Not too impressed with Dr. Denise products that I've tried.  Some of the only skin care products I've taken the time and expense to return.

I used Dr. Denese's pads for years but stopped a couple months ago and started making my own pads, following instructions from our resident chemist @SilleeMee.  I use a mild toner, essence, or favorite rose water as the base and add Star Anise Extract Powder (Amazon), which contains a new on the market exfoliating ingredient "Shikimic Acid".  The solution is gentle to the skin, just feels like water.  No prickliness as with glycolic acid.

Yes! It's so easy to make myself plus shikimic is 10X more powerful than glycolic w/o the irritation. In other words, 4% shikimic is like using 40% glycolic which would definitely irritate my skin. Shikimic also has other great benefits, too, not just a good exfoliant but more. Google it and see.

There was a thread here last week on the same topic, many agreed Dr Nassif pads were top notch on HSN.

I saw that there are third-party sellers asking $65+ for that exfoliant.  No way I would spend that. I make my own anyways.

Remember how cheap we all got it on HSN, then it went on clearance for even less, now it is gone. I am not a chemist and would not try to be, so no home mades for me, dont trust myself to get it  right.

Believe me, @Shelbelle, it's super simple.  Only 2 ingredients.
