I have an appointment for initial consultation tomorrow. My eyebrows are quickly disappearing and I hate the shape - everything about them. My hubby's cousin does them and she does a beautiful job so I have decided to go for it. if i can afford it I would also like to get the eyeliner too, as i have a hard time seeing well enough to do eyeliner without my glasses.
I thought maybe they were disappearing because I was having thyroid issues but my doctor tested my thyroid and it is fine - so I guess this is just part of aging.

I say go for it!! And if your relative does a great job and I'm sure you'll get the family discount
do it!! I lost my eyebrows to chemo treatments and altho they grew back, they are very sparse. I do know how to them on , it would be nice not to have to all the time. Just be sure to check out her work and make sure everything is sterile and safe!!! Would love to hear back how things went!

When you say permanent, how long to they last and how is it done, like a tattoo. Mine are really sparse due to chemo also. What is the average price to have it done. I am interested.

She has a web site called defining features.com All your questions would be answered there, and she has pictures too.
I have had chemo twice - breast and kidney cancers so I'm sure that has a lot to do with what has happened to mine.

They are a tattoo and last about 5 years - then fade so need to be redone. I imagine cost would depend on where you live. This particular person has a medical background so she knows all about keeping things sterile etc. She is also a fabulous artist and applies that talent to her trade - she does the brows in "hairstrokes" so they aren't a solid but actually look like hairs.

Many women lose their eyebrows and eyelashes as the age. If you need help in that area, you should definitely have permanent eyebrows done. You know people who have had it done, they can refer you to whoever did there's. Do it.

I have a friend who has permanent eyeliner & it looks great. She said it hurts like h*ll though.

There are two main ways to do brows - solid and feathered. The solid is less expensive and looks much less natural. It is also cheaper than the feathered technique, which takes more time and skill. How long it lasts and what color it "turns", or if it turns, are determined both by the skill of the person doing it and the quality of the ink used. It is essentially a tattoo. Some cheap ink turns green or other bizarre colors. Must also depend on the pigment existing in your own skin, too. Most lasts 4-7 years, with a touch-up or two.
I have researched this a lot, as I have badly wanted to do it for some time. Alas for me, to have feathered brows done by a skilled artist with good equipment in the area where I live would be about $600, so I haven't done it to this point. I would strongly urge anyone considering this to google "permanent eyebrows" and look at a lot of photos on different sites so you can see the difference in the types of techniques and results.
