@tansy mentioned on the beauty purchases thread that this foundation was being reformulated.  I had heard that, but didn't know the reformulation had been completed since I was thinking about grabbing one in the old formula to have on-hand.  I'd read elsewhere that they were removing silicones and adding in niacinamide.  

Sephora now has the new formulation in stock.  So, I wanted to check out the reviews.  I was hoping there would be some comparisons, but mostly it was people who had received the product free for their honest review.  That's no help.  I did find a couple and one person felt like it was just as good as the old one, but another said her shade was a good bit darker than the old formula which scared me off since I think it's curretly only available online, so I can't go in the store and shade match.  The close shade match was one of the reasons I really loved this foundation.  

I did a browser search and came up with a couple of Youtube comparison reviews.  This is pretty much the type of thing I use Youtube for when it comes to beauty.  I already have a product in mind and I want a review.  I landed on this lady named Hana.  I think that's what she said although her channel is Han.  

I was particularly interested in her review since she is my exact shade, 3.75, and she was going to do a side-by-side comparison, so I could get an idea on how the shade may or may not have changed.  I fast forwarded through the Jewelry sponsorship part of the video as I had no interest in that.  

Anyways, she started out talking about how she was not a fan of the original and then went into the difference in the formulations and showed the ingredients side-by-side which I'm posting a pic of including the title of the video with her channel name included so you can easily find it if you're interested.

I won't go into any more details except to say she liked the new formulation and the shade looked very close.  Close enough that I feel comfortable investing in it.  I'll probably try the mini bottle since that'll last me awhile.  Also, she has some follow-on videos which I have not watched.

Good to know. The dog's on my lap so I am not getting up to check but I think I have been using shade 4 which is perfect.

 Gosh, I read such glowing comments about this foundation-I was keeping it in mind for my next choice. So this wonderful foundation is now supposed to be improved? That tells me the old one just didn't have it. I will stick to what I've got.

@Icegoddess  Thanks for the information. I love Armani products. I will check this one out. Reformulated products are always interesting. The counter manager used to give me lots of free stuff but, she has been promoted and relocated so I'm on my own for a while.

@Judaline That's an odd statement, IMO.  Skincare products, and even entire lines, get reformulated all the time, often due to technological advances.  Sometimes for the better, and sometimes not.  Sometimes I feel like they just add a drop of more and more ingredients so they can charge more.  I kinda felt like that was what Serious Skincare did.  I found a product I really liked and then they added a bunch more ingredients and charged more for it, but it just wasn't as effective for me.  

But, sometimes, the changes are for the better.  At least they didn't just discontinue it and try to replace it with sometihng new like NARS did when they replaced the Sheer Glow foundation I was using and loved with something I didn't like as well.  

It's all a cr@p shoot I guess.  If you didn't watch the video, at the end she said it was challenging her favorite Victoria Beckham foundation, which I haven't tried, for the top spot.  

That foundation has been around for a very long time, and beloved by many, so I really don't see how you can say it just didn't have it.  I seems to have had it for many years for many people.  That doesn't mean it can't be improved.

@Icegoddess  Maybe it had it, I don't know 'cause I never got the chance to try it. Erno Laszlo's products are still around. The original I believe. Maybe I'll go back to him, lol.

Armani Luminous Silk foundation is my #1 favorite foundation of the handful of others I have in my line-up.  It's foundation perfection.  I do have high hopes for the new formula and will be purchasing it soon.
