I wash my brushes after each use. I use Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner. It dries almost immediately. It is sanitized too. My brushes smell great. Everything so often, I wash them with either the Beauty Blender solid soap or Masters Brush Cleaner.

I reshape the brushes and put them in brush guards to dry. I dry them upside down or at least with them elevated pointed down to keep the ferrule dry.

I use the Avon dupe of the beauty blender and what I like about using it w/ foundation is that I can use one side, then use the other another time before washing. As for brushes, I've gotten into using my fingers more to apply foundation first, then smoothing it out w/ a the sponge a bit, then the brush. The application looks the same and I don't have the wash the brush every time I use.

I like the Coastal Scents Bionic Flat top buffer brush and the Elf powder brush for foundation. I find that some kabuki type foundation brushes are too thick/dense and I have a hard time cleaning them. I clean my foundation brushes w/ Dawn liquid detergent. I put a few drops in old plastic cup and fill w/ some water. That cleans my brushes and beauty blender sponge. My thicker brushes I squirt some softsoap liquid hand soap onto them and rinse.

I see those sponges all the time at Marshalls.

I use an iBeauty brush that I found at Marshalls for liquid foundation and tinted moisturizer and tinted primer. I really like it.

I wash mine after every application so that it's dry by the next morning. I just found a second brush at Marshalls yesterday, so now I have a spare if I'm in a hurry and don't wash it out

I wash all of my brushes, both synthetic and natural bristles, with Johnson's baby shampoo in warm water. I make sure I lay it flat so it dries in the right shape.

DO NOT USE Dawn. Use a gentle soap or baby shampoo. If you are more comfortable with your fingers stay with them. Certain foundations work better with fingers, and others with brushes or sponges. Wash brushes once a week. ELF has a cleaning spray in a black bottle that you can use as often as you want.

You should clean your brushes once a week, no longer than 2 weeks, must keep that bacteria at bay. I do mine faithfully every Sunday night with my shampoo and let them dry on the vanity overnight. Next morning they are ready to go.

Most of my brushes I have had for 16 years, some longer (Smashbox, BE, Michael Maron, remember him Mojave Magic? and Bobbi Brown), they are all as good as the day I bought them.

That's the reason I love the Benjabelle brush trees.
