I'm on the market for a new foundation primer. I've tried SO many (Philosophy, Smashbox, IT, Benefit Porefessional) but wonder if I've really tried the best one yet. What is your favorite and why?

Out of curiosity I wanted to try IT Cosmetics No. 50 so I've been using that lately, and like it very much. Before that, though, I was using Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel and it worked very well.

I use Dr. Denese's Hydroshield as my primer. I used it anyway but Paula (Beautypedia) said that it makes a great primer so that's what gave me the idea.

I'm currently using Avon Magix and it works perfectly well for me. If I find that my skin starts getting a little dry, I switch Magix up with an inexpensive BB cream from the drugstore (I think it's Lumene)and that primes and moisturizes at the same time. This is one item I don't like spending a fortune on.

I use and really like Laura Mercier's Hydrating primer. She offers Hydrating, Normal & Oil Free primers. Keeps makeup on and good for my skin (keeps it hydrated). Nordstrom has a sale on right now (10% off) & free shipping.

I recently started using SKINN orchid gel (the purple one) and I love it. I've discarded a number of other primers that I found to be greasy and ineffective. The orchid gel leaves my makeup looking fresh all day and it lets me use less foundation as it neutralizes some red in my skin. Some days I just use the orchid gel and a little concealer.

I love Laura Geller's Spackle. It helps my foundation - either IT CC cream or Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten, last all day.

I use IT Cosmetics Feel The Moment. I like that it's like a serum and primer in one. It seems to work the best for my skin right now.
