Might be , but, don't want to look it. ROFL

I've seen older women let that ol' long grey mess grow way long, then pigtail it, twist it up. Ugh !

Cut that mop off. Hot and heavy and nasty looking.

If someone is fine with looking older then I say go for it, but I don't ever plan to stop coloring my hair. My gray hair is a terrible texture so it would look awful.

I haven't colored my hair in over 5 yrs. Still waiting for it to turn gray. Wondering how long it takes?

DH thinks I have gray hair. I told him not yet? It has some gray but mostly light brown. New hairs coming in are gray or black?

I will never have gray hair. I made that decision when I saw how back in the 30's films, the method of aging used was to give the character gray hair. Then the "Carol Burnett Show" they depicted aging by putting her in gray wigs. That did it for me. Even Vicki Lawrence looked years older in skits playing that character

on "Mama's Family."

LOL @San Antonio Gal! It was similar in a favorite movie "The Ghost and Mrs Muir." Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. To age her, they gave her gray hair. Her face looked exactly the same.😀

Re: For Those Ladies Choosing To Go Gray...

I was a natural blonde all of my life. As an adult I had my hair highlighted until my hairdresser told me that my natural color was the same color as the highlights! She was correct. I am complimented on my haircolor all the time. I have no regrets about going natural.

@Mersha  I stopped bleaching my hair about 3 years ago. I have gray starting in the temples but not much else yet. I have no plans to dye it or bleach it ever again. I love it being natural and undamaged. No regrets here!

Re: For Those Ladies Choosing To Go Gray...

Ladies, thank you so much for taking the time to respond.  I read all of your replies.

I will probably be sitting in the stylist's chair and still undecided as to what I will do.  It would take time for me and everyone to become accustomed to gray after so many decades of blond with highlights & lowlights.

I love the idea of not spending so much $$$$$ every few weeks or sitting in the salon for so long.

Thanks again!

@Mersha Hey. Whatever you decide is easy to change.

And you are only a hot nasty mess if you act like one! LOL

Let us know what you decide to do.

Oh no 😢  You must have felt so bad/embarrassed when you heard them say that.  I'm sorry.

I'm not ready to go gray yet. I'm 65 and like my dark brown hair. I color my hair at home. I'm sure it would look better if it was done at a salon but I don't have the patience or the money.  It needs colored right now but I'm still not supposed to raise my arms over my head.  I don't think I'll ever be able to imagine myself with gray hair.
