Good morning! I've decided to take the plunge and try the TSV but not sure which formula. I have short, thin color-treated hair which I also have a hard time growing. Should I just start with the pomegranate or try the lavender. Also, does the lavender have a strong smell? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just so you know, the Bamboo Green Tea, Sweet Almond Mint, and Pomegranate are all universal - meaning they're good for every possible hair type. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The Lavender is good for color-treated hair and adds volume, but that's not to infer that the others don't. The Lavender does have kind of a strong scent, but not unpleasant. Tea Tree is very helpful to the scalp and encourages growth. Treatment oils will encourage that, too. I realize you want to take advantage of the TSV. If I were you, I'd start out with one of the more universal formulas and maybe try a set with a few small bottles of other formulas so you could experiment with a few before going for a big bottle. If you put your TSV purchase on Auto Delivery, you can switch formulas on future shipments, if through your experimenting you find one you like better.

ETA - I forgot to say "Welcome"! Whatever formula you end buying, please don't be shy about asking questions here in the forum. There are a lot of smart WENNERS who can help you. Sometimes it's just trial and error to see what you like best and how to customize your own system. One thing I will say, please don't try to skimp on the amount of cleansing conditioner you pump out and be sure to rinse, rinse, rinse.

I use Fig and Tea Tree but I have thick curly hair. My mother, whose hair is much thinner and finer, loves Pomegranate. It really has helped her hair look so much healthier and shinier and she doesn't have to color-treat as frequently. I think Pomegranate might be a good option to try out. Good luck!

I've been using Wen for about 5-6 months. My color-treated, dry curly hair looks and feels so much better since Wen.

In my opinion, the lavender has a strong herbal scent (which I love). Other formulas work better for my though. I now only use 613 and Fig. The lavender may work for your hair type.

As JLF said, use enough cleansing condition, rinse and repeat. I also think using cooler water helps.

I cannot imagine ever going back to shampoo. My color lasts sooooooooo much longer!!!

Thank you all for your great recommendations! I think I will try the pomegranate. Also, thank you for welcoming me to your Wen community- I'm sure I will have many questions. Have a great weekend!

All of the Wen formulas are gentle on color treated hair. I would suggest a first time Wen user to try Pomegranate or Sweet Almond. Many people experience growth from using Tea Tree, but it's not guaranteed to do that and for such a purpose a tea tree oil applied to your scalp would be more beneficial. Good luck!

I hope you got the Bamboo before it sold out.

I did not like WEN at first because I tried the SAM and then the lavendar. Both did not work for me at all.

WHen I finally tried the old seasonals( except for the old spring scent) I understood what people were raving about. Loved the old winter and fall scent formulations, and loved the 613, which I mix into everything.

The only ones that work (great) for me are the 613 (mixed in) and the seasonals and the Bamboo. Fig works but the scent is disagreeable to me.

I NEVER leave in another pump, and believe me the key is WATER---before you massage it in, be sure hair is really really saturated. Add more water after adding the CC (and be sure to add enough pumps). Leave on hair for two minutes as you shower, then rinse rinse rinse. Towel dr, add one pump styling cream and love your hair. Expect to have to wash your hair less frequently.
