I was just reading the thread started, I think, last night when the Tarte TSV was presented. Almost all of the comments didn't bash but just told the truth. I got to the end of, I think 77 comments, and there was a statement saying that 'this thread is closed." Others have posted about closed down threads but I have not knowingly seen one before tonight. Is this common and I am just not aware of it? Hmm.

Happens every once in awhile. Godfreako's sneak peaks (I think she works for the Q) are often closed down---possibly by her after she gives us a hint of something we have inquired about.

Just be aware that this thread might also "poof" - "discussion of a removed post/thread."
I think it's kind of dumb.............but just warning you.
Now I wish I knew what was in the thread.....
.......lol. And no, you don't have to tell me.

It was an honest assessment of the TSV presentation of some self tanner and how awful it looked on the host and models. No bashing of said host. Just honest shock at how the producers could let them go out there looking like that. Out of over 70 posts, I think I saw 2 that said it wasn't horrible.
Bad move on the webhead's part to squelch the discussion. I would think the PTB would want to know of the audience reaction.
The thread is still there but remains closed.

As I recall what you are seeing is actually the second thread. The first one was SO much more interesting and active and started about an hour earlier in Shoes. That one seems to be long gone.

I have seen threads quite often that say, "the commenting period for this thread is closed". Then the thread often disappears. Sometimes it stays, but no one can post to it. That I don't get. Maybe they close the commenting, and webbiie has to get permission from superiors before removing the thread entirely? I don't see the point of keeping a thread up to read, if it isn't appropriate to have comments added.

Yeah, freedom of speech isn't allowed here. Especially if you talk negatively about the appearance of a host, even if you are speaking the truth.
Our amendments don't apply here. You can only say and do what the webmaster's approve. Real fair isn't it?

yes, like it or not it is fair because this is a privately owned forum. QVC make the rules and you agree to them when you sign up. Frustrating sometimes, but no "amendments" are being violated

Oh, was it the one about the TSV? Well, I guess they were trying to sell it and...lol. I didn't read the whole thing. I hope it didn't get mean. Just saying a product is not a good look on someone usually is not poofed.
I am never sorry to see a mean thread go "poof"! I don't think it is mean to talk negatively about a product or presentation, but it IS mean to talk about a host's appearance in a vicious manner and that does happen here. It is just bullying under the guise of expressing an opinion. I don't mean things like, "WOW, that (product, piece of clothing) is not attractive on ___. I mean things like "OMG, LALA's head is HUGE! She gained so much weight---she looks like an elephant in that! Q should fire her! Her hair looks disgusting!" and so on. It's really about the wording---and their intent.
There are posters here that comment about a certain host each and every day---it says more about them than her, for sure.
