First Aid Beauty disappointment

Hello all!  I recently placed my first order for First Aid Beauty products and I'm so disappointed.  The smell is very off-putting.  It's a cross between plastic and dust.  I ordered directly from their website and took advantage of the 60% off items.  I ordered several different products, face cleanser, serum, body moisturizer, etc.  They all have this smell.  My question is....Is this "normal"?

I guess I didn't do enough research before I placed my order.  I also found the products to be very irritating to my eyes.  I've been using Josie Maran products and they don't do this me, so I guess I'll stick with them.

Thanks in advance for your input Smiley Happy

Re: First Aid Beauty disappointment

I got the cream from the Q.  Smelled all right.  At first it was just all right, but recently, I got itchy bumps so tossed it.  Gone are the itchy bumps.

I, too, prefer JM.

Re: First Aid Beauty disappointment

The only product of theirs that I have is the Ultra Repair Cream, and never noticed any smell of any kind even though I sometimes use it as my facial moisturizer. I just opened the lid and took a good sniff just to be sure of that....and no smell.

As for Josie, I only have her body butter but don't use it very often as it takes too long to absorb whether I use a little or a lot and I have to immediately wash my hands good after applying because they get all greasy. If I'm not in a hurry to get dressed and can hang around in my undies for at least 15 minutes then I use it. I know when that is mentioned quite a few respond and say it isn't greasy at all and absorbs quickly. But not in my case.

Re: First Aid Beauty disappointment

I found First Aid Beauty to be a so-so product line. There are far better products out at the drug store, for far less, that work far better!

I ordered the ultra repair cream from QVC and there is no bad odor at all.  I always buy the special they run around the holidays for 2 large tubs. This year they had a body wash exfoliator with it and it is wonderful.  Have had unscented, vanilla, and this year cucumber melon.  Not as happy with the cucumber scent but its okay and not off putting.  I will keep.

@Jacie

Same here with the JM body butter. I can't even get it to absorb on my dry feet!

I have super sensitive eyes and have no problem with this line.  Love their night cream and wouldn't be without the Ultra Repair Cream.  I have never had an odor like you describe.  I order from their website or get them at Sephora.  Call CS and see what they say.

Thanks everyone!  Based on your feedback, I think I should reach out to F.A.B. with my concerns and see what they say.  And after trying this line, I agree, there are better products for less money!!

Re: First Aid Beauty disappointment

I have an assortment of First Aid Beauty items and none smell bad. I get really itchy during the winter months and FAB is the only product line that relieves my dry winter skin.

Give examples Jacie. I've tried just about every drug store brand & nothing works for my skin like First Aid Beauty. It's like a drink of H20 for the skin. Have tried many high end brands from Nordstrom & NM. FAB is the best!!!!
