I had a baby last week! Between the increase in hand washing and the frigid temps, my hands are so chapped and even a little painful. I'm applying aquaphor several times a day but I know my soap isn't helping. Currently using BBW foaming hand soaps. I'm looking for more moisturizing hand soap options. Please share your suggestions.

Re: Favorite moisturizing soap?

Congratulations on your new baby! Smiley Happy

I love goat milk soaps from either Goat Milk Stuff, Bend Soap or any number of goat milk soap sites that can be found online.  I find that no matter how often I wash my hands with these soaps, they never get dried out.

Re: Favorite moisturizing soap?

I have very dry skin and my hands used to crack and bleed, not to mention the flaking on my body.  My feet were also a disaster.  My Dr explained that most shower gels/soaps have sodium laurel sulfate.  Very drying.  He suggested bar soap and as luck would have it I was watching the Doctors a couple of days later and they interviewed a family that raises goats and makes goat milk soap. It's called Goat Milk Stuff.  I did some research and found that goats milk was the 1st ingredient in their soaps.  I ordered a bar of the fragrance free one and have been ordering ever since.  They also make a liquid that you fill a foamer with.  A tiny bit goes a long way.  My skin has totally changed!  No more dry, itching and raw skin.  I also use First Aid Beauty cream on my skin.  There are many companies that make goat milk soap, but goats milk isn't listed on their ingredient list until much later.  I tried Beekman's and the dryness started, so I threw it away.  I wish you the best and congrats on your new baby.

@StillRachB  Congrats on your new baby!!  In winter, when my hands are pitifully dry, I keep a bar of Shea butter soap (either drugstore or luxury brands....L’Occitaine or some organic ones) at all sinks. It takes extra time, but the biggest difference to my hands is adding lotion each time...I’ve found Kiehl’s salve to be the best when my hands are cracked and desperate. Have fun with the baby!

Re: Favorite moisturizing soap?

I'm currently using a shea butter goat milk soap from Horse o' Peace Ranch and it's divine!  You get all the benefits of goat milk PLUS shea butter!  You can get the goat milk soaps in scent-free formulas that are even good for using on babies, including their castille soaps which are made with goat milk and olive oil.  They're all very soothing and moisturizing.  They even help folks with eczema and other skin conditions!  Just go on some of their websites and read the reviews. Love my goat milk soaps! Re: Favorite moisturizing soap?

I have super sensitibe skin and switched over to the soap rockettes that Jill always had in her YHJ programs. They last a lone time and don't dry out you hands no matter how many times you wash them. Hope you have the same good luck that I do.

Re: Favorite moisturizing soap?

I would suggest using a good quality bar soap and not liquid soap. I've found goat milk soaps to be the best by far.  I also like GOAT MILK STUFF, and have ordered from them numerous times.  I also like Beekman bar soaps.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby.
