@pdlinda Have you tried lash tinting? Its a salon service that colors lashes and the results can last two or more weeks. I liked the results when I had it done and it did make my blue green eyes really pop

So you don't wear makeup? Of course it's fine if you don't but anything you do to improve your looks with product is fake. I like fake a lot more than I like natural for myself. If I want natural I won't bother putting any makeup on.

@monicakm @You do you! If you like it I love it! ( my momma used to say that) today I was at the post office and I saw this lady with her young daughter. She had on some crazy lashes. She told me her daughter picked her lashes for her because she has been sick. Her daughter chimed in "I want my mommy to look nice" I told her she did a good job and her mommy looked beautiful! That exchange made my day!

If you like it I love it!
my husband has said that for years.
What a sweet sweet story about your post office encounter. And what a thoughtful Mommy to do that for her little daughter.
Today has been such an awesome and lovely day. My husband had a follow-up eye appointment today and he is seeing 20/20 from his right eye. Monday after next he has his other eye done. Then we got to watch the eclipse, had a nice lunch, came home and enjoyed a rain shower while watching the dogs play out back. Your story was the icing on the cake. Now it's time for bed and hopefully not get up till Wednesday morning when it's time to leave for the hospital for my heart Stint. Just kidding, I'll get up tomorrow but as of right now I could stay in bed till Wednesday.

@monicakm I wore more makeup when I worked and wore suits and hose to work. Coverup if needed for a red spot, a little foundation on any red areas, eyebrow pencil, Trish McEvoy shell on my eyelids, and mascara. Once in a blue moon, some thin thin eyeliner on upper lids.
During the day maybe lipstick for a meeting.
After a Trish McEvoy makeup artist showed me their then new line (can't remember when--1995 or so maybe) I enjoyed it because it didn't scream makeup. I looked natural, like myself, but a little better.
I didn't then and still don't like to really see makeup when I look at my face. I just don't like to look painted, don't like smokey eye or whatever it is called now. Just me, not trying to tell anyone what to do.

@Mz iMac wrote:@teganslaw @monicakm Well, I hope pre teens & teens note that eyelashes are outdated for this year. I am sick & tired of seeing very young females w/fake eye lashes long enough to gouge your eyes out along w/the rest of the skin on your face if you were talking to them face to face while they were blinking.
@Mz iMac LOL! What I couldn't get over were the gals playing bball wearing the fake eyelashes, fake nails, extensions flying as they ran down the court, and all the makeup! I thought just getting all that on would take so much time... then how did it all stay on through all the sweat and playing!

Since you don't care I am not going to waste my time tracking down the article I read. Why should anyone care? Well just because you don't, doesn't mean other people don't. I'm sure there are lots of people who care. This is a beauty forum. False eyelashes fall under that category. I found the article interesting but I am in no way shape or form going to change what I'm doing just because someone says it's trendy not to wear them. I love my lashes and as long as I can see to put them on, I will continue to wear them even if that means I'm outdated. To repeat myself yet again, if I like a trend I will follow it, if I don't I won't.
@monicakm Oops... I read @teganslaw comment as why should anyone care what the trend is... so we all should do what we want. I liked her post thinking that's what she meant. I for one love reading your makeup posts, and I wouldn't care what the trend is if I like it.

Oh I will definitely keep wearing what I want to ( within reason) and skinny jeans is one of those things within reason! I smile when I see an elderly lady out and about with nice makeup on. I know she's taking the time to care about how she presents herself to the world. We spoke with one such lady outside the eye doctor office today as we waited for the solar eclipse. She said she wished everyone was looking up towards the heavens looking for God instead of a solar eclipse. I love meeting strangers and striking up conversations. You never know who you're going to meet and what kind of delightful conversations you'll experience.
@monicakm To add to your encounter... when I was talking to my doctor about exercises a few days ago, overall fitness and "pulling yourself together" before going out into the world.... she told me about an 85 y/o female patient who "lights up the room" when she enters.... filled with life, gusto, and a full face of makeup and perfect hair! She said she absolutely LOVES when she sees patients filled with pride in themselves by wearing that makeup when they enjoy doing so, using that woman as an example. She would greatly appreciate your sparkling attitude!![]()

I read the article too. I just glanced through it since I don't wear false lashes.
The article also went into serums used on the lashes to help them grow thick and lush and mascara usage.
Just because someone decided something is outdated, doesn't make it true. As long as some people are still using faux lashes, and manufacturers are still making them, they are a current beauty item.
