Re: Fake Bake self tanner

[ Edited ]

We're off to Hawaii on Sat and I really wanted just a hint of color, but have had such horrible experiences with self tanners.  They ALWAYS,  and I mean 100% of the time,  SMELL on me.  HORRIBLE...Tan Towels and San Tropez included.

I saw the show with Jimmy Coco and the self tanning kit, when it was first on.  I haven't tried self tanning in years, but really want to leave with a little color, so I ordered the kit.   It was so wonderful, I ordered a second since it was still on the Event Price, as a back up.

NO SMELL.... NONE,  NOTHING at all.  I got slight color when I used the gradual tan prodcut for the first time!  It's very moisturizing and I finally have a product that I can use prior to my vacations.

EDITED TO ADD ...   when I first  tested this kit,  I primarily used the Gradual foam, and that has absolutely no smell at all.   The regular bottle that provides the deeper tan is not scentless, but it doesn't have that funky self tanning smell.  It's definitely something I will continue to use before we leave for our trip, and possibly this summer.

@Chi-town girl  When I was a kid my Mom used to use something from Coppertone.  I think it was called QT and it was in a white bottle.  HORRIBLE is being kind.  Did anyone say STREAKING ORANGE?!!!!  But,  that's all that was available back then, and my Mom was very pale, unlike my Dad who had such rich skin tones.  We used to kid him and say he could take out the garbage or get the mail in the middle of winter, and get a tan!!!!!

Like @Chi-town girl I strongly recommend tan towels.  I've tried many, many self tanners and I love these because they dry quickly, do not contian any of the bronze colored "guide" and you don't need to wash a mitt after applying - just toss the towel.  I like being able to throw them in my bag when I travel because then I can touch up my tan when on vacation.  I think that all self tanners can be drying.  Tan towels are not as drying to my skin as some of the others.

@SandGirl - I have no idea what they will do for pricing for the event,  but it's within 30 days so anything you buy now would qualify for credit adjustment if pricing drops on the 18th. You would need to call them for any applicable credits, it's not automatic

I use the Tan Towels and the secret I have learned is that you can use a body  body lotion called Hemp, only in the original scent in the white bottle, if you have dry skin issues.

It doesn't have much oil in it, so you can put it on first, let it dry and then use the tan towels. If you use the Hemp lotion then the tan towels will last about three days without streaking.I use the Plus because it is not dark, it dries very quickly and the Hemp body lotion keeps it going.
