I know facial oils make excellent cleansers for dirt and makeup and are also a good stand alone moisturizer, however I prefer serums and creams.I know some people apply oil before serums and creams, but it seems to me that the actives in the serum wouldnt be able to reach the skin as it should because the oil would act as a barrier.I have also heard of people using it after serum and moisturizer to seal it in,but I am concerned the oil would have a cleansing effect on the serum and moisturizer and dilute them.I would like to incorporate oils without diminishing the effectivness of my serums and moisturizer.Any advice....Thanks

Pretty much anything that contains petroleum-based ingredients may create a barrier or chemically change any other products you put on after them. So it's really important to know your ingredients.
Search: "cosmetic petrochemicals"....long list!

It's weird that camellia oil is not mentioned in that article. I would have expected to see it there because it is noncomedogenic.
Also, the other link that @River Song posted does not mention camellia either.
I think it's the best all-purpose oil.

Many places sell the camellia oil. Knowing you, I suspect that you already know to choose the organic, cold pressed variety.
It is not an expensive oil so don't buy one that costs more because it won't do you any more good than an inexpensive one. I buy mine from pipingrock dot com. 2-ounce bottle - $7.

I think the confusion may be between CLEANSING oils and MOISTURIZING oils. I use BB CLEANSING OIL to remove makeup at the end of the day (takes off eye makeup, too). AFTER applying serum, MOISTURIZING OILS (again I use BB) are applied next. If your skin is dry, just add a drop in your hand to reg. moisturizer & combine before application. If skin is really dry, apply serum, then oil & then moisturizer.
