Face burn from pads

I got the kit a few weeks ago with everything in it so I could try it. The retinol pads burn. Does any one else have this happening? The lip stuff feels like a layer of wax and I can't use it. The other stuff is just ok. The Gold Bond hand cream I have works just a good as this stuff on my hands. I tried anyway. Will stick with the stuff I have been using before I got this. Works good at a fraction of the cost.
