OK. My name is Shanus and I was addicted to BOTOX and fillers....and so the journey started 8 years ago....every 4 months!! As my neck started to slightly sag, my face looked 20 yrs. younger w/ the BOTOX & fillers....a dead giveaway since there were no lines or wrinkles and my cheeks were full and plumped. NO LONGER NATURAL LOOKING. When I looked in the mirror & saw one of the ageless HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK looking back, I quit cold turkey. You can only fight aging for so long and then it fights back!!

That may be true, but I'm gonna keep fighting. My neck looks fine at the moment....Maybe I should go check...
Unfortuneatlehy I do not look ageless, just better.
I have had the thought for all the money spent on fillers & botox over the years, I probalby could pay for a facelift or come close.

The neck, jawline and hands are the give-away. Your face can be smooth and perfect but if the jawline isn't tight, the neck and chest look like cr*p and your hands are wrinkly, covered in spots and just...well ugh, then you're fooling no one.
Sadly, those three areas are the most difficult to deal with and usually only surgery is what works (though hand surgery wigs me out!).

Since I live alone and really go no where I am doing this for me in keeping my appearance because I never know when I might meet someone so I do it for me as I always have.

I recall a while ago when I saw SG's neck go through a major improvement. I used to think her face and neck didn't match before that. Now she looks great! On another channel, HSN, there is RS...her neck looks amazing after her transformation and it made her look younger too. I think the face and neck should match because if the neck looks old then it cancels anything youthful about the face.

@DowntonAbbey Good for you (taking care of yourself for you). I guess I'm like you in that regard. I'm a 70 year old widow. I have no intention of ever getting married again (no reason). I have lots of family who can keep me as busy as I want to be. I have been having back issues for about 14 years (no operation will help) but my knees are shot (will get replaced within a few months).
I don't have any spots or wrinkles on my face but I do have some of a turkey neck. Some is heredity and some is because I take care of it (totally because I guess I like hearing I look 50 years old). I do wear a wig because I have thin hair (no thyroid).
But I'm like you @DowntonAbbey I think it's good to take care of yourself. I wish I'd taken better care of the rest of my body, but I was lazy. After each baby (3) I didn't get the fat off. I'm not obese, but I'm overweight.
Men are so dumb. I just think they let women like you and others here who have a lot to offer (as far as companionship) yet they (probably 9 out of 10) go after the young(er) females.
I remember I used to tell my late husband that I got so tired of seeing old(er) men with these young women and many of them have young children.
He'd say, "Don't worry about it. When we have retired they will still be working to support that young(er) wife and children because they can't afford to retired. They'll still be paying into our social security. It made sense!
There are so many lovely women who have so much to offer another person (male or female partner). Not all want to get married, just have someone to do things with. Yet I see it all of the time where these women are alone. I've said this to my female friends so often they're like, "Annabelle....you should start a company helping women to find someone to spend time with (male or female)." HA!
Hang in there @DowntonAbbey if I lived near you, we'd do stuff together. I'd livin (long i) you up...you'd be laughing all of the time...I'm a bit of a ding dong...![]()

I use good skincare but don't over do it with a million different products. I am aging. I don't know whether I describe it as "gracefully" or not, and to be honest, I'm not even sure what that means.
I do know that I have only so much control over the process, especially considering that the only cosmetic surgery I would ever have is if my eyes were to droop to the point of limiting my eyesight.
Does my neck match my face, agewise? I don't know, and I don't really care. This constant checking for every little thing that is "wrong" with our looks is not healthy, in my opinion.
I just refuse to focus on such things because ultimately it is a losing battle. Yes, yes, there are those people who naturally just look young for their age. That's great. Personally, I attribute that more to genes and lack of too much sun exposure.
But for those who look their age, that's okay too.
