Eyeshadow Q, am I the only one?

So, am I the only one who doesn't like dark eyeshadow on their lids? I prefer a lighter/medium color on the lid and the darker color at the outer corner and into the crease.

Just wondering after watching an advertisement for an eyeshadow trio made specifically to put the darker color on the lid, medium color in the crease, and highligher on the brow bone. And it always seems that in eyeshadow demos they are always putting darker colors on the lid of the models.
