Has anyone had their eyebrows tatooed? If so, how long does it last? I heard it is pretty pricey too. I have dark brown hair but now my brows are thinning and I have a few gray hairs in the mix. I am 65.

i have heard mixed reviews on this. i think that some depends on your coloring, and who is doing it. i know i saw a case once on judge judy. can't remember the details.
know who is doing it, as in licensed, how many they have done etc.

My sister had it done years ago. It didn't last too long...les than two years. I don't know if the technique has gotten any better now.

Not only does it last for maybe two years, but the skin will get rid of pieces of the ink placed below the skin- no matter how good you are with applying the salve.
Too, you will not be allowed to donate blood for one year afterwards.
Touch ups are expensive also.

I have very dark brown, nearly black brows. I started losing the tails and that is very noticeable when you have darker brows like mine. I started using a lash growth product (Careprost same as Latisse) on my brows and I can't believe how much that has made my brows fuller and my tails are back, too! I'm very happy with the results so far. I've been applying the Careprost for almost eight weeks now.

OMG - that Judge Judy case about the older lady and Japanese/Chinese studio..........that must have been 40 years ago. I'm not a fan of JJ nor have I watched her since (I must have had the flu with nothing to do)...............but I remember that show and the story goes..............woman wanted permanent TT eyebrows - operator did it but woman's face changed over time and with age". Woman not happy - JJ came down in favor of operator since she did what was asked without medical complications so not her fault woman aged and changed.

@SilleeMee I always appreciate your posts...so informative. I think you were the poster who recommended bamboo extract for hair growth. I ordered it and take a small amount every day...it hasn't been six months yet. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I know of several ladies who have had it done. One's turned green after a couple years. She had brownish blond before they started graying. Two others turned blue (navy blue, very noticeably navy blue). Each had very black eyebrows before losing them following cancer therapy. There are several whose looked very good but they continue having touch-ups. It is very expensive. I have a friend who gets her eyeliner tattooed but she refuses to do her eyebrows because she has seen so many failures. She has the money and has regular touchups for her eyeliner. Looks great. She has hers done in Houston, TX which she believes is the best based on what people have told her but she says even so, she has seen some eyebrows that did not do well. It might depend on the condition of the skin, the health of the patient and a variety of things.

My SIL had her eyebrows tattooed about 8 years ago and she has never been happy with them. The ash brown color has barely faded in that time. You may want to consider microblading your eyebrows.
My eyebrows are very thin- I’ve recently started using an ultra fine light grey Sharpie on my eyebrows and I love it! My hair is dyed a light silvery ash blonde. I draw individual hairs. I first used light brown but it was too auburn for my taste.

Yes, I love mine.
What you you need to know; they are about $400 -$500, that includes one complete session and a fill in after 30 days. You need to get them refreshed every year or so, depending on how you feel about them. The refresh is not included in the original $
they do use a numbing jell but it still hurts. It’s like little tiny razors cutting into your skin.
Don’t drink coffee before the procedure, they’ll bleed more
i have very light brow, both color and amount of hair, dark blonde hair and went with a taupe color. They have made a big difference in my face and I feel like I look “cute” first thing in the am!
Go on Pinterest and see the different shapes and decide what works for you, have the technician draw them on so you can see what they’ll look like.....Remember, they will look too dark for abput 10 day, then the scabs come off and voila, you are a movie star.
Lastly, research the techs in you area and ask to see photos of their work.
Yikes! I was giving you information on microblading NOT tattooing! So sorry.
