Eye Shadow On Your Brow Bone

Do you always use a shadow on your brow bone? I have a lot of cream shadows in the pots and shadow sticks. I never know what color to wear on my brow bone, most of Mally's sticks and the Maybelline Tattoo pots I have are not light enough. Usually I just use shadow on my lid and sometimes in the crease. So do you really feel it is a "must" on the brow bone? Maybe someone can recommend a color to wear. Also do you ever wear creams and powder eye shadows together?TIA

Re: Eye Shadow On Your Brow Bone

I don't "always" do anything with my makeup, but mostly I don't think my look looks finished without shadow on my brow bone. I use primer (Nyx Shadow Base in White-matte-or Pearl-shimmer) all over & then I lightly dust a light colored matte/satin shadow all over that (Mac Blanc Type or Orb). Then I start with my cream shadows & place it over that. Sometimes I add a deeper color in the crease, usually a powder e/s, but sometimes a darker cream shadow. Then I usually go back with the tips of my brush & place a matte or satin color right under my eyebrows. It's just fun & you just go with what you have & feel like that day!

I usually do wear shadow on my brow bone. I usually wear a bone, white or light pink. I do have a very very light grey and also a peach. It's just my personal preference but I only wear matte shades in that brow bone area. Yes, I do wear cream and powder shadows together. I will often blend the dry shadow right over the cream shadow.

Hi jordan2 ~ it's not a "must" for me, but I will apply a light color like ivory directly under my eyebrows. Usually I'll use my highlighter and blend blend blend. You don't mention your age, but I'm in my 60's and to me, it appears to lift my eyes and makes me look more "awake." ... if that makes sense.

I don't put on that much makeup daily anymore since I retired ... but when I dress up, I put a vanilla highlighter on my brow bone.

I don't wear shadow on my brow bone, I am too old. I wear a soft taupe on my lid only.

Yes, I think the brow bone looks 'naked' with nothing on it if you've used eyebase and/or shadow on the rest of the eye. I usually use Trish's Shell pencil, a very pale pink.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I guess I'll have to look for an eye shadow that is light in color for my brow bone. Honestly sometimes I'm in a hurry and look to cut out some steps in my makeup routine!

Yes!

The older you get the more you need to highlight, and I can do almost my whole face from one bareMinerals ready quad.

I use it to highlight my whole face, then do my eyes, and finish.

Yes, I use Nyx milk colored pencil and then go over that with a cream colored shadow.
