Eye Shadow Fallout - How do you handle it?

I am recently attempting eye shadow again after many months of abstaining and need to know how you handle the fall-out?

I don't know if I'm just extremely messy or what, but after applying, I have a ton of the stuff underneath my eyes and on my cheeks!

How do you get rid of the stuff without disturbing your eye cream, concealer, other eye makeup, foundation, etc?

It's just a mess! I'm about ready to just forget it and go without again! Very frustrating!
