Do you use a separate eye makeup remover at night or just your facial cleanser?

Neutrogena eye makeup remover. Recommended by my opthmalogist.

I don't use a separate makeup remover. The cleansing oil I use at night does the job very well.

I have a microfiber cloth from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Whatever cleanser or oil I'm using and a very gentle wiping with this cloth takes it all off.

I am so scared of "oil" - build up on lash follicles, causing puffiness, etc. I'm wondering if there is a gentle lotion that isn't oily/greasy?

It might have something to do with the particular oil being used. With the one I use, I massage it in first, then add some water and massage some more. Finally, I wipe everything off with a clean, warm, wet washcloth. No negative side effects.

About 1 1/2 years ago, I purchased Philosophy Purity (it was a 3 peace set - TSV with HIAJ and Micro Delivery) and I found that it works extremely well for your entire face including eye make up and mascara. My eyes are very sensitive and almost always have issues with most eye make up remover. When I use this, I have no problem whatsoever. I also have sensitive skin. All the make up removers with oils in them are very irritating to my eyes, so I would not recommend them. Purity is a cool lotion not greasy nor is the ponds cold cream type which is also irritating to my eyes and skin. Purity is your safest bet and I've been around a long time and tried numerous products at all prices of the spectrum. Hope this helps.

I think it really depends on the type of mascara you use. I use ""Blinc"" mascara (a tube mascara) so it comes off easy with a face cleanser. I have used ""Purity"" for years.

I really like the ALMAY OIL FREE eye makeup pads. I use one (one side on each side) then cleanse face with CeraVe in shower.
