I noticed so many news reporters on TV wear extensions and that's fine. But I noticed alot of the extensions are so ratty looking. If you're in the spotlight like that you would think their extensions would be kept up.
I wouldn't mind getting extensions but I know I probably wouldn't be able to take care of them. Not extensions for length but for some thickness.
Just some useless thoughts from me today, tired after cutting grass and planting flowers.![]()

Our local fox station has a weather woman who has 3 extensions. One on the right over her shoulder, one on the left over her shoulder, and one down the middle of her back. You can see her natural hair in the blank spots. The extensions look like you bought them at the cheapest beauty supply. Stringy and awful. It's too bad the news stations no longer help the on air personalities learn how to dress, do makeup, and take care of their hair.

IMO!! most of the "extensions" look phony. I have noticed on our local news broadcasts that shorter, shoulder length hair is making a comeback. Hopefully!

I have had extensions done many times and they neither look cheap nor stringy

I know many people who wear them, and they look fine. It all depends on where and who purchases your hair, and who puts it in, and the upkeep. I know many people who wear them, and you can't tell. My stylist put a lot of effort into doing a great job, and her clients look fantastic.

The OP wasn't talking about all extensions. Title of the thread is Extensions on TV. She's saying that it's too bad these ladies don't have better extensions, given that they're on the air. So this post wasn't dissing extensions in general. I'm curious - were your extensions to add length?

Someone on QVC has stringy, dry-looking extensions that are waaaay too long for her. It's funny, too, because you can always tell the ones with extensions because they always have the same dumb wave to them.

A good set of hair extensions are really difficult to detect. It's all about the texture of the fiber, or of the real hair, used in the extensions. Usually synthetics tend to look stringy and they separate rather than blend into natural hair making them look obviously fake.
I wear a small lace-front topper to cover thinning on my crown. It's made of real human hair which has the same texture as my own hair. Because it's real hair, it weighs less than synthetic hair so the effect is natural looking with natural movement of hair unlike synthetics. It does not separate from my own hair but blends in really well so you can't tell I have it on. Only my closest friends know I have it on. That's how it should be with all hair pieces.
