@teganslaw  -  The only makeup I discard is mascara after 3 months (or a little longer if barely used).  If liquid makeup starts to separate or smell, I discard.  Anything else I'm keeping.  

 

I wouldn't throw the bronzer away.

I have 20 year old makeup I still use....bad me I guess😄

@teganslaw   I can keep powder products much longer than creams or liquids.

 

If powder compacts apply just as well as when purchased, they're OK. Sometimes they will develop a weird place where maybe oils from your brush have transferred to it...just scrap it away and continue enjoying your bronzer.

I have powder eye shadow palettes that are over five years old and I still use them. I have so many and rotate them seasonally. I just did a rotation this morning lol. 

 

Back when I bought Bare Minerals when Leslie still owned the company saying powder items never expire. 

 

Liquid items are another story. I toss when the get an odor or clumpy.
