Re: Exfoliator You Love??

[ Edited ]

@GymBunny

I hope everyone knows that scrubs with microbeads are bad for the environment ....  those little plastic beads never break down, and ultimately can be fish food, since they look like fish eggs.  Then many of those fish are caught for our food, so you can end up eating those beads!  (read link for full information)

Personally, I use the PTR peel pads or plain old sugar mixed with Dove liquid soap.   Works well on both face and body.   Not only is sugar a very effective (inexpensive) exfoliant, but if you accidentally get some in your eyes while scrubbing your face, it will dissolve and not cause eye irritation ....  getting scrub beads in your eye can be painful!

I should clarify my original post to say that Philosophy's Microdelivery Vitamin C Peel does not contain plastic microbeads.  I do know the little "scrubbies" eventually dissolve, and are not plastic.  HTH !

I like the Salux cloth as well, but use it very gently on my face.  I tend to get flakey on my forehead and use it mostly there.

I've been wanting to try this one and I'm glad to know that it dissolves! Thanks!

Dr Gross Pads.

SKINN scrub

Colleen Rothchilds scrub (identical to Dr. Brandts micro facial scrub).

It really varies on whether it's day or night I'm doing it; summer or winter; following with a clay or hydrating mask, etc.

I haven't tried this, but I Googled Exfolikate dupe and this came up:

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator.

I love Exfolikate too, so I'm thinking of trying this soon.

Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (Exfoliating Cleanser) - Travel Size 20 g

@GymBunny  I wanted to let you know that I did go ahead and order this from Amazon. I paid $14 for a 2 oz. travel size, but I see today on the Vasanti website you can get the same size for $6.  I've only used it once, two nights ago, and my skin is still very soft. It felt very similar on my skin to Exfolikate while using it.  After one use, my skin looks bright, no flaking two days later, and no irritation.  I really like this and would definitely recommend it as a dupe for Exfolikate.

Vasanti Key Ingredients:

1)     Papaya Enzymes – Dissolve dead skin and debris while fading dark spots and evening out your skintone.

2)     Micro-crystals – Stimulate and exfoliate your skin to uncover your underlying radiance. No plastic beads here!

3)     Aloe Vera – Sooths your skin and heals rough patches.

4)     Panthenol – Delivers a major boost of Vitamin B to help your skin retain its natural moisture and keeps inflammation and irritation in check.

5)     Coconut – Helps your skin stay healthy and hydrated.

Ingredient Listing:

Aqua (Water), Aluminum Oxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Propanediol, Panthenol, Emulsifying Wax NF, Glyceryl Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Tocopheryl Acetate, Papain, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol

I use L'Oreal Microdermabrasion 2 piece Kit.  Just like the Philosophy one, but at half the price.

I just got the murad skin polisher. It seemed to work well. I ran out of my PTR pumpkin mask so I thought I would try this.

Seems several of you Ladies all like the PTR Pumpkin Mask.  Do you just put on like any other regular mask, and it does the work for you?
