Exfoliation, how much and what kind

currently using daily exfoliating pads that I get from Amazon. Glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, niacinamide. Is it working? I guess. My face feels smooth.

Should I be doing more?

Dry elderly skin.

Tell me your routines and products.

I also use a physical exfoliation once a week, I do a microdermabrasion treatment.

I find what works best for me is doing dermablading a couple times a month. It's essentially shaving the peach fuzz from the skin. It helps unclog pores, refine my skin, and make it baby smooth.

This also helps any face products I use to penetrate the skin better. It also helps to create a more smooth and even canvas, so my face primer and powders sit flawlessly on my skin. It just makes sense that it would, and it does.

I use and try different ones, but the one I dont care for is Skinn Dermapeel, too harsh and leaves a film on my skin, probably from the baking soda in it. I do like Dr Denese, the one from Nakery or Mad Hippie.

There is no 'one-size-fits-all' type of exfoliation. It really depends on your skin type and age plus the products you use from day to day. All of that can make your skin different from someone else's skin. So, it's going to be mostly about trial and error when it comes to finding which kind of exfoliation is the right one for you.

I use this gentle exfoliation by Dr. Kaplan twice a week.  It's actually intended for daily use.  I can't use anything harsh.

I also do dermablading once a month to remove peach fuzz like @KittySoftPaws .  I purchase the blades from Amazon.

I tried the Kaplan facial, it was blue back then, but I was not impressed, maybe time to try it again now that the formula seems to have changed.

Re: Exfoliation, how much and what kind

I use my DIY Star Anise solution several times a week after my morning cleanse.  It feels like water - no tingle or prickly feeling.  I even use it in my armpits after showering, before deodorant.

A few times a month I'll cleanse in the morning with an enzymatic cleansing powder - either Good Molecules or Hanelei.

I use full strength Tretinoin almost nightly.
