Does an esthetician associated with a medical office have access to different proceedures than an esthetician at a medical spa type office?

It depends on what each place offers. I went to a Derm who had a skin care side and they didn't do facials or many different kinds of laser and the only kind of microneedling was with a roller. I went to a derm in another state that was a full-service type spa. My current esthetician has a simple office and does several different kinds of laser, Botox, filler, microneedling, facials, body lasers and brow tinting and lamination.
I have a friend who goes to another med spa here in town and she got her yahoo rejuvenated as a service they offer.

@granddi You can search for specific procedures and see who is offering them. If I was planning to have one done, I would prefer to go to a medical office, because even if an esthetician performs the procedure, a physician should be available to address any issues that may arise. I just realized (from looking it up), that an esthetician is not an aesthetician. According to google, both are professionals that are highly specialized in skincare, but aestheticians typically performs medical procedures, whereas estheticians can only perform cosmetic and maintenance procedures. I thought that both were the same word, just different spellings.

Perhaps the aesthetician is more of a derm PA?

@granddi I thought as you that both were the same. What I read is that an aestheticians can perform both medical and cosmetic procedures, and the estheticians can't do medical procedures. Think burns and scars. An aesthetician is not a physician, just to be clear.

@granddi We can get certified, taking additional training, to do lasers, deep peels, etc. under a derm's watch at a med spa. The same goes for fillers and botox.
Some Estheticians just do facials, extractions (blackheads, millia, etc.). It depends on experience, if under a doc and varies from state to state.
Thanks @SilleeMee . The definition is getting blurred since so many med spas have various regulations, too.
