Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer

To the poster who posted about using this on eyelids, a BIG shout out Thank you! I have this and had not used it in a long time for anything. I tried it this morning, and it really does cover those veins, etc without being dry. I applied MAC's Painterly cream shadow over it and wow, it looks good. Thank you for the tip. Has allowed me to use a product I had forgotten about that would have gone unsed or perhaps thrown out.

Re: Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer

I saw that post and plan to buy it next time I see a GWP I want.

I think that was SuzyQ?

Re: Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer

Oh, wow, I feel so special. {#emotions_dlg.lol} Seriously, I'm glad that my tip worked for you. FYI: It's the Double-Wear concealer in a wand-type applicator, not the one in a compact.

A few months back, I realized that the staining and discoloration on my lids and even extended out a bit were winning the battle with my usual product (Laura Geller eye spackle in the tub that is a pinky beige shade).

So I went to Nordstrom ostensibly to try I think it was Trish McEvoy's Eye Base and Laura Mercier's Eye Basics. Neither covered well enough for me. So the salesperson suggested using a concealer -- one that was not too emollient, obviously. She was actually a Dior person, but I ended up liking this one just as much if not better, which was nice since it was priced better.

To get the results that I want, I do have to use the Extra Light, which is not a shade I would buy for a concealer. My normal shade would not give me the coverage I need. And this Extra Light also seems to give me a bit of brightness as well.

What's surprising to me, given that this is a concealer, is that while it is not drying, it is definitely not tacky and does not make my powder shadows crease, at least not more than they might normally or even when I was using the Eye Spackle.

That applicator, btw, seems to last forever. I'll probably replace it for sanitary reasons before it's even empty.

Mine is not the extra light, but the 1W Light. I thought, heck why not give it a try, and so glad I did. You really made my day by making my eyelids look sooo much better! Oh and special, it goes both ways!

Re: Estee Lauder's Double Wear Concealer

allthatsgood, I had just edited my reply to make sure that you knew I was talking about the Double-Wear concealer in a wand-type applicator, not the one in a compact.

As for shade, that of course depends upon your skin tone and the extent of discoloration. The Extra Light is quite light but it blends out and works best for me to accomplish the goal of covering the discoloration as well as possible.

Oh, okay. I just checked the site, and 1W Light is the concealer in a compact. I did not not try that formula, but heck, if it words for your discoloration, that's all that matters. Smile
