I started a thread separate from the Young Living thread since some people might be confused about the the subject line on that one and might not click on it. And because some of us are asking about oils in general, and not necessarily a specific brand. If you use essential oils, please share what oils you use and how you use them. I'm intrigued and I'd like to start incorporating them into my routine. I may also post in the health and wellness board as well for a different audience. So if you browse both, I apologize. Thanks!

I didn't read your other thread.

Just for clarification, are you talking about essential oils (e.g., lavender oil) or carrier oils (e.g., argan oil, marula oil, etc.)?

I started using E.O.'s back in the summer. And after trying them on my pets, I decided to try to use them for everything. I now have about 50+. I think my most used oil is Lavender. Simply amazing how many cures Lavender has!!! Tea Tree also but I hate the smell of it.lol

I use Peppermint for aches & pains.

I tried a few EOs after I had completed cancer treatments which left me a shadow of my former self.  I tried a couple of different sources but was most impressed with those from Original Swiss Aromatics.  I can't remember exactly what I started using -- I no longer use the EOs, at least very rarely use them. There was one EO mix that you could use after the shower -- blended for boosting immunity -- and that one I liked using very much as I didn't have to mix it with a carrier oil.  But the upside of using EOs wasn't really worth it to me.  I received a very small benefit.  But maybe a professional aroma therapist would have been more help had I sought their counsel.

I believe it is German chamomille that has a very hypnotic frangrance and I would like to have incorporated it in my life somehow but in the scheme of things I haven't been compelled to do so.

I hope you find the perfect oil(s) for you and good luck to you !

I really like using essential oils.

Right now I am using Lavender mixed with Ylang ylang. I love that combo. It smells really good together. Smiley Happy

Do you diffuse it? Or dab a little between your nose and lip?

You can certainly diffuse them if you want to.

However, I am using them on my skin. They are already mixed together in a spray.

I  use lavender, peppermint, and frankinscence.  I use them for tons of stuff.  I have an Essential Oils book of recipes for various things called The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy by Valerie Worwood.  IT has tons of recipes for various issues.  It is organized by issue, so you just look it up and there it is.

Mine started with Young Living since that is what the specialist uses.  There is a local nurse practitioner that has a small office where she does scans of your body and recommends various herbs, vitamins, and EOs to deal with them, sort of an herbalist. It has helped my fibro a great deal and I sleep better.  I got my diffusers at TJ Maxx for super cheap, $30, compared to those on the YL.  My mother is a distributer.  I also use Plant Therapy oils because they are great and much cheaper than YL.

I want to know what you all do with them? I have found that the smell kind of disappears quickly.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.
