ELF Soft Glam Foundation Review

Wow!  This foundation is good.  I have normal to dry-ish mature skin, a few wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, etc.  Light to Light medium neutral skin tone.  Purchased the Light Neutral 21 and Light Neutral 25 as wasn't sure which one to get.

This morning tried it for the first time.  Used the ELF Poreless Putty Primer in the tube, Light Neutral 25, and the RMS Tan Lines bronzer and Hydra setting powder.

The foundation gave me light to medium coverage.  Applied with a sponge like I usually do with foundations.  I didn't put a lot on because wasn't sure how it would look, would it oxidize, etc., so think next time I will put a little bit more on to get a more medium coverage.  It went on so easily and blended well and didn't have to work hard to get it blended in.  I've had it on about 3 hours and it still looks great.  Usually by now, foundations are breaking down around my nose and chin and it's not at all.  Doesn't look patchy or dry or cakey or settling anywhere.

Know it's only been a few hours but so far so good.  Will check it again late this afternoon, early evening.

I looked for this at Ulta, Target and two drugstores but it was not in stock.

ELF also makes a brown tubing mascara but that was sold out.

I will be curious to see an update from you, @JudyL.

@JudyL   Thank you for this information. Can't believe this is one I haven't tried... I'm about sick of all the misleading info and demos of a product that fails me (it's not them it's me!!!).

This foundation is fantastic and it works on my oily/combo skin.  I love the ELF Soft Glam squeeze tube. Smiley Happy

@tansy  - I couldn't find it at ULTA either so ordered from the ELF website.

Hi @JudyL
Thanks for your review. I was just trying (again) yesterday to figure out my shade. You and I have similar coloring. I also was bouncing between shade 21,22,24 light neutral.
Did you like the 25 better than the 21? The 21 seemed too light? That's my issue; trying to figure out if the shades run warmer or lighter or darker 🤔
I have read numerous reviews but I can't settle on one. The Elf site also gives more than one shade depending on what foundation colors I own that I put in the shade finder. 21 neutral comes up more than once but it being summer I'd rather have a warmer shade.
My second ❓that I would like to know is if it settles into fine lines? And how does it wear? Some foundations just fade away. Ty

Re: ELF Soft Glam Foundation Review

Update to original post:

This foundation has lasted really well all day.  Foundation usually wears away around my nose and my cheeks close to the sides of my nose - can't figure out a better way to describe that. LOL - and on my chin.  I have worn the foundation about 7 hours now and it still looks surprisingly good on me.  I am checking it with a handheld lighted 10x magnifying mirror so please take that into account. There is slight wearing away around and on my nose but not near as bad as with other foundations.  Chin also shows some "wear" but, again, not near as bad as other foundations.  The rest of my face still looks good for as long as it's been.  Slight settling in a few lines but only noticed it because of the mirror I was using.  I am very impressed.  The "wear" or "fading" of the foundation is somewhat noticeable when I look in the 10x mirror.  Looking in my bathroom mirror, can't really tell and my bronzer still looks good too.

@Midmod  - any foundation that I have ever tried has always settled into my fine lines.  Can't get away from that.  Some settle a lot and some slightly.  This foundation is on the "slightly" side.  It did "fade" somewhat in places that woud normally do that on me but far less than my other foundations.   I did like the 25 better than the 21.  Think the 21 is a bit yellower and lighter.  I may try combining the two but the 25 worked just fine and I'm happy with that one.

Re: ELF Soft Glam Foundation Review

Thanks @JudyL.
I'll look at the 25 when buying. I have the Revlon aluminance tinted serum in rose beige which isn't rose beige at all imo but a beautiful glowy warm shade perfect for summer. I'm hoping I can find a warm shade like that with this foundation. 👍

@JudyL

I agree, it's great.

I just got it in shade 21 and it's working well for my dry skin.

Re: ELF Soft Glam Foundation Review

I love most Elf products.  Tried the new foundation but it made my skin dry and settled in lines.  It was fun to try, price is right just didn't work for me, others enjoy.
