I am a firm believer in people being able to spend their money however they want to since they have earned it. I have to admit that while watching the presentation this morning with Leah Williams, I thought to myself who would pay that much money for a hair dryer. It can't possibly be that great, to warrant that price.

Re: Dyson Hair Dryer Experience

I was reading an interview with this Dyson guy.  His "theory" is some other dryers blow craters in the hair, making it dull.  If I find article I will quote attribution.

I  also saw the Dyson demo for the first time this morning.  I didn't see it do anything my $20 dryer doesn't do.

I never use heat to dry my(color treated) hair ... high/cool setting ... I can dry my hair in a few minutes. Styling takes another few minutes ... a bit of hair spray and I'm done.

The lady doing the demo said that it used to take her 45 minutes to dry her hair.  YIKES!!!!!!!!  I'm so thankful that I have short hair that is also low maintenance.  It's dry in about 2-3 minutes with my $20 hair dryer.

Re: Dyson Hair Dryer Experience

I was just reading at CNN Tech page ...

Three of the bullet points which appear to be the main selling points ... none of which matter to me.

1.  It's quieter.  I wear hearing aids.  Quieter doesn't make a difference since I'm not wearing my hearing aids when I'm drying my hair.  I don't hear anything!

2.  Intelligent heat control ... I never use heat to dry my hair.

3.  Dries faster.  My hair dries in a couple of minutes with what I'm using now

Re: Dyson Hair Dryer Experience

While I'm not in the market for a hair dryer, I have very curly dry hair, the last demo I saw would give me pause if I was. First off Shawn stated to dry her hair took 43 seconds! ( I may have been born at night but it wasn't last night) Then the Dyson young lady handed the dryer to a model I've never seen before, gorgeous girl, with little more than damp hair and after 10 minutes it still wasn't completely dry? This young lady did not have thick hair
